The Lower Austrian company “Tiani Spirit GmbH” from Bisamberg (Korneuburg district) has had experience with the processing of health data for over 20 years. That’s how long the software engineering company has been working on standardizations. For example, every query of the electronic health record ( ELGA) in Austria runs through components from Tiani.

In the Corona crisis, the 50-employee company has now launched a platform that could play a decisive role in “re-testing” in the near future…

The relentless efforts of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) in connecting healthcare data worldwide are being recognized and rewarded. More and more organizations are highlighting and recommending the importance of IHE and its profiles, like the latest special publication of “Procuring Interoperability: Achieving High-Quality, Connected, and Person-Centered Care”, released by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).

The National Academy of Medicine was established in 1970 under the charter of the National Academy of Sciences to advise the US on issues of health, healthcare, biomedical science and technology. Members are elected by their peers for distinguished contributions to medicine and health.

Please clap your hands for the latest addition to our team, Marion Gottschalk 👏🏻. Although the huge cup went to someone else the Startup World Cup 2019 in San Francisco was a fantastic and successful event on many levels for Grapevine.

Already being in the list of the world’s top 40 startups out of 12,000 (!) candidates is a great honor and acknowledgment of our long-time efforts in connecting healthcare.

Earlier this week we published a Medium article about the EU commission yet again backing up and highlighting the importance of IHE standards on which Grapevine is build on.

But not only important decision makers, experts and advisors from Europe recognized the importance of the unique, global, marketproven and vendor-neutral way of exchanging health data. In the United States of America the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released their 2019 Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) Reference Edition and IHE is again a big part of it.
Here is a “snapshot” view of this year’s (Print) Edition.

On October 26, 2016 the European Parliament established conditions for the lawful processing of personal data, including health data. According to this decision, citizens have the right to access their personal data, including data related to their health. However, most of the population still does not have cross-border access to their health data and, sadly, has no way of exchanging it safely. There are over two million registered cases per year where people living in EU member states have used healthcare in other European Union countries.

Digital technologies can help solve these problems and adapt health systems to future challenges…

We were chosen by the German Federal Ministry of Health to present our solution and application concept for “Blockchain in the German health system”.

“Blockchain: Everyone talks about it — but it’s often hard to find concrete applications, especially beyond Bitcoin” — says Germany’s Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn, one of Europe’s most important decision maker in public health.

We are looking forward to present our real world use cases and our business model with Blockchain technology in healthcare to overcome current problems and to realize the future of healthcare.
